In Conclusion

My experience in IS101-3202 was unlike any other class I have taken. I felt very engaged, and this was primarily due to assignments like the discussion posts, the blog, and the PowerPoint project. I enjoyed learning about Microsoft applications and getting certified, as it is something employers value. Compared to my other classes, I feel like I actually know the names and faces of my classmates, at least the ones who have consistently attended. The instructor was very involved and made an effort to know each of our names. He even requested a video call or Webex session just before the semester started to get familiar with us, which was a first and gave a preview of what to expect from him.๐Ÿ’ป

From Chapter 6, learning about text and content placeholders in Section 6.3.1 was especially helpful. In the past, I struggled with text formatting and using placeholders in presentations. I did not even know they had a specific name before. Now, I can change the text format by making sure I click the placeholder before making changes so it reflects everything in the box. It is a simple step, but it is definitely a game changer.๐Ÿ’ฅ

I do not have anything else to share, but I am excited for this semester to end so I can focus on reading my books and finally earning my associate degree. ๐Ÿ“–

Placeholders were a big help and i wish i knew all this information prior to the PowerPoint presentation.

  2. Hey Isabel, I've had pet dogs as well in the past to know how fun they can be. I enjoyed learning about your dogs from the presentation. Congratulations on earning your Associate's Degree!

  4. I couldn’t have said it better myself! I enjoyed this class as well, maybe a little more than I expected to, because of how interactive this class was. Especially assignment 3, where we had to present our PowerPoint slideshow. The Webex and BQ1 immediately made me realize this class has high standards.

Enjoy reading your books and having some free time, you deserve it!

  5. Hi Isabel,
The Webex call before the semester started really stood out, it was a great way to set the tone for the class. The knowledge we’ve gained about Microsoft applications throughout the semester is definitely valuable and something we can carry forward into our careers. Congrats in advance on earning your associate degree!

  6. Hii Isabel! Yeah, the WebEx honestly came across as a surprise. I think it took some time getting used to it, but I truly do think without those video meetings, I wouldn't have gotten the push and help that I so desperately needed sometimes (lol). I hope you get to read as many books as you want to, and I know that your associate's degree is already in the bag for you. Best of luck on all your future endeavors!

  11. Hey Isabel,

I really enjoyed reading your final blog post! It's impressive how you found the class engaging and appreciated the interactive elements like discussions, blogs, and the PowerPoint project. Your newfound understanding of text and content placeholders in Section 6.3.1 is a test to your growth throughout the course.

It's great to hear that you now feel more connected with your classmates and the instructor, which isn't always the case in online courses. Your excitement about completing the semester and focusing on your reading and earning your associate degree is well-deserved.
